Good to know

Do I need a Red Rock Pass?

Many trailheads in the Coconino National Forest around Sedona need a Red Rock Pass or an America the Beautiful pass to park. Look for the sign at the lot. Some lots, like Airport Mesa and West Fork, have their own fees.

When is the best time to visit Sedona?

Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are mild and busy. Summer is hot, so hike early. Winter is quieter and can bring snow on the red rocks.

What are the Sedona vortexes?

Vortexes are spots many visitors find calming or energising. The best known are Airport Mesa, Bell Rock, Cathedral Rock and Boynton Canyon. All four are free to visit if you pay for parking where needed.

Is the Sedona trailhead shuttle worth it?

Yes, on busy days. The free Sedona Shuttle runs to popular trailheads like Cathedral Rock and Soldier Pass, where parking fills early. Check the schedule before you go.
